"But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge".—Psalm 94:22
My friend, Patti, who I met through a church knitting group, made these “Knitting Rocks” to scatter for my website launch. DFW Yarn Crawl, started today and runs through August 27th. I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity for me to launch this site and place these rocks for other knitters to find.
If you are reading this and have found one of Patti’s special rocks that she hand painted for me, please post a picture on Instagram, Twitter or the ThreadsWithRed Facebook page using the hashtag #threadswithred or comment below, why you think knitting rocks!
The rock is also a reminder of how God is my rock. He is my stronghold when I am weak. I look at how I have been able to take refuge in my knitting during trying times. A few years ago, I was going through a difficult time. Knitting was the one thing that could take my mind off of my situation and focus on what I was making. Most items I make, I give as gifts. I have made it a habit to pray for whoever is going to receive what I am creating. Not only are my thoughts off of what is troubling my heart, but I am also putting my focus back on the only One who can give me the peace and comfort I so desperately need. Thank You, Jesus!
So, the reason “Knitting Rocks” for me is because it helps calm my mind and heart. 💕
