God Cares About the Small Stuff

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”—James 1:5 (NLT)

I will be the first to admit that I am technologically challenged. For those of you that subscribe to my weekly blog emails, I thank you for your patience the last few emails where I have had to send twice in the same day because the link in first one wouldn’t open correctly. If you are reading this from the email link, then that means the problem was fixed!😊

For the past few weeks, I’ve tried to figure out how to fix it on my own, which obviously wasn’t working. As I was fretting over it, I felt God say to me, Why haven’t you asked Me for My Help? Trust me, that I have been praying about it, but I wasn’t being specific. I had asked God to help me to carve out time to work on it, but for some reason it didn’t dawn on my to say, Lord, give me the wisdom to make this email campaign work successfully.

I had been letting other things preoccupy my mind and had neglected to go to my true Source for the  supernatural knowledge that I needed. When I finally pursued God, He gave me the needed discernment. I was so busy praying for some “bigger” prayers, that I didn’t want to “bother” God with my small stuff.

The thing is, if I can’t go to God with the small stuff and watch how He divinely works, how can I write about Him giving power and strength to those that ask? That is how the enemy seeks to get a foothold in our lives. I let my head be filled with other things so that my focus wasn’t on how God could help me in this situation.

God cares about the small stuff. I need to go to Him with anything that is weighing on my heart. The devil wants to do whatever he can to try and deter me from sharing how Jesus is working in my life. The past few weeks it was by trying to discourage me from sending out my weekly emails. While I may still have glitches along the way, I have to put my focus upward and not inward.

Is there something going on in your life that you don’t feel as if you can go to God to in prayer for wisdom or guidance? According to James 1:5, if you need wisdom, our God is generous and will give it to you if it is in His name. You will not be rebuked for asking.

Dear Lord,

Forgive me when I don’t seek You first. I thank You that You can give me supernatural wisdom to see my errors and walk in the path You have intended for me. I thank You for pouring into me so that I can speak to others in Your name. I thank You for Your patience with me. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray these things. Amen.

Have you written down this month’s memory verse somewhere where you can see it every day?
